RB Leonard Fournette is the one HC Bill Belichick seems to want to accompany their emerging star in the backfield, RB Rhamondre Stevenson. According to Tom Pelissero, he has even trained with the team with the intention of being signed in the near future.

Fournette comes off a season with 1,191 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, his rushing numbers decreased significantly last year, averaging 3.5 yards per carry, while in 2021, he had 4.5 yards per carry.

This is not the first time they have shown interest in him since he also visited New England last year before returning to Tampa Bay for another year.

The Pats also brought in RB Darrell Henderson for a recent workout.

For now, the Patriots have a pretty solid backfield, especially compared to positions like WR, consisting of Stevenson, Ty Montgomery, J.J. Taylor, Pierre Strong Jr., and Kevin Harris.
