The Chiefs withstood the final onslaught of the Vikings who could do little against an imposing Patrick Mahomes who scored a couple of times in the first quarter.
The Kansas City Chiefs have said they will be looking for a perfect record season in 2021, something they have already accomplished in preseason with the win over the Vikings. Mahomes completed 8 of 9 passes on the two offensive drives he played on at Arrowhead. Jerick McKinnon seems to be slowly recovering from the injury that has kept him away from the field for so long.
Rookie A.J. Rose Jr. shined with 6 carries and 2 touchdowns on the ground, although the 22 points that brought Minnesota closer on the scoreboard came with the Chiefs' backups on the field. Although it is good news to see the Vikings' offense score points since up to now they had depended on their defense to score points.
